The new seven-speed S?tronic transmission impresses with its high degree of efficiency. The friction was reduced even more, the weight was lowered, and the oil supply was designed to be even more efficient – thus enabling very low values at engine idling speed. The two multi-plate clutches are arranged axially one behind the other, which reduces the drag torque and improves efficiency. The seven?speed S?tronic is available for all engines except for the top TDI model. It will enter series production for the 3.0?TDI with 160?kW.
